Tiger Cubs (Reception)

Welcome to The Tiger Cubs!

tiger cubs

The class teacher is Miss Montgomery and the class teaching assistants are Mrs Smith and Miss Hutchinson.

This term, we have lots of exciting texts to engage the children in their learning through our topic ‘I can be Imaginative’. We will be encouraging the children to use their imaginations to engage in story telling, role plays and we will be applying our phonics knowledge through purposeful writing opportunities. We will be exploring toys, space and cold environments. Due to the nature of Early Years, we will continue to follow the children’s interests and feed this into our learning too. I wonder where their wonderful imaginations will will take us?

Please see our curriculum overview for information about the learning this half term.

Our school values are Respect, Resilience and Responsibility

Our British Values Focus this Term

In class we will focus on the following British Values Rule of Law and Mutual Respect. We will be creating our own class rules to follow and will learn how to look after our new classroom, share resources and listen to others.

Diversity

One of the seven outcomes we would like from our curriculum is for the children to develop their understanding of what it means to live in a diverse society such as Britain. To support this throughout the year we will be learning about and celebrating a variety of celebrations and festivals. We provide the children with a range of multicultural resources and books to explore and also enjoy sharing and learning about our own differences in families and traditions.
